As a data analyst, he specializes in building end-to-end analytics solutions — from data engineering and modeling to visualization and storytelling — turning raw information into compelling narratives that inform business strategy and operational improvements.
Prior to Cuesta, Samuel held senior analytics and credit risk roles at Bancolombia, one of Latin America’s largest financial institutions, where he developed deep expertise in SQL, Python, and Power BI. His work delivering risk models and automation pipelines led to measurable outcomes, including an 18-percentage-point improvement in credit approval rates and significant reductions in processing time. He also contributed to M&A advisory work at Ad Astra Equity, a U.S.-based firm, where he applied data-driven frameworks to investment analysis. Samuel further strengthened his technical foundation through a postgraduate diploma in Big Data Analytics in Canada, from which he graduated with distinction.
Samuel joined Cuesta to channel his passion for solving complex problems through data, working alongside clients to create meaningful, lasting impact through evidence-based decision-making.
Samuel lives in Medellín, Colombia. Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with his family and his dog. He is an NBA enthusiast and loves traveling, watching movies and series, and is always on the lookout for something new to learn.
