His career combines consulting, product development, and executive leadership, designing end-to-end solutions that connect data, technology, and business to drive tangible impact in growth, efficiency, and strategic decision-making. He has led multidisciplinary teams in engineering, analytics, and data science, and built modern data and ML platforms across cloud environments.
Prior to joining Cuesta, Juan led the 0→1 build-out of risk, pricing, and analytics for a digital neo-insurer designing actuarial models under IFRS 17 and constructing the data and ML platform powering underwriting and claims. He has also served as Head of AI at Fullstack Labs, Analytics Strategy Manager Ibero-LATAM at Teleperformance, and Director of ML & Data Products at CredibanCo, with earlier roles at KPMG, SAS Institute, and SAP.
Through his M.S. in Industrial Engineering (graduated with Honors), Juan combines technical depth with strategic vision to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions. He also serves as an AI professor at Universidad EIA and has authored papers presented at international forums, including EURO 2021 and IFORS 2017.
Juan is based in Medellin, Colombia. He joined Cuesta in August 2025 and speaks Spanish (native), English (professional), German (intermediate), and Portuguese (basic).
